Карађорђе Петровић: The Revolutionary Leader of the First Serbian Uprising

Карађорђе Петровић, also known as Ђорђе Петровић, was a prominent figure in Serbian history. Born in Viševac on November 14, 1762/16, he led the First Serbian Uprising and laid the foundation for the Karađorđević dynasty. Карађорђе played a crucial role in the fight for Serbian independence, earning him the title of вожд (вођа) or leader. His legacy as a revolutionary leader is remembered to this day. Карађорђе's life came to a tragic end on July 14/26, 1817, at Radovanjski Lug. Despite his untimely death, his contributions to Serbian history and the struggle for freedom continue to inspire generations.
